The National Immunisation Program is keen to remind us to seek out vaccination against the flu (influenza) now, particularly for people who are in a group more at risk of becoming seriously ill from it. This year, for the first time, for younger people aged between 2 and 17 years, a nasal spray flu vaccine will also be available through some state or territory programs or by private prescription.
As a reminder, people aged 65 years and over can get a free influenza shot. Find more information about the flu, eligibility and how to find your closest health service to book an appointment in this Flu Fact sheet here.
