Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS)

Are you, or an older person you care about lonely or socially isolated?

ACVVS is a community-building program that combats loneliness and isolation among older people, particularly those facing mobility issues, cultural differences, or limited social contact.

This free service matches volunteers with older adults based on shared interests, fostering meaningful connections and enhancing the quality of life for those at home or in aged care.

One of our friendly volunteers can visit you in your home, or in an aged care home and take part in activities with you like:

having a cuppa and a chat
listening to music
playing card games
going for walks

All of our volunteers are fully vaccinated and have regular police checks.

Eligibility

Volunteer visits are available to anyone receiving government-subsidised residential aged care or Home Care Packages, including people who are approved, and on a waitlist for residential care or home care packages.
