Advocare is proudly partnering with the Road Safety Commission WA on the ‘Wiser Driver Road Safety’ program. For us, being a part of enabling older adults to plan effectively for their future transport needs is a welcomed role. If you’re an older adult, find out how you can play a part in this new project.
The Road Safety Commission’s aim for the project is to explore supports and services that help older people feel safe and supported getting around their communities, whether that be as drivers, pedestrians or users of mobility devices. Advocare’s role is to seek insights from people 65 years and over to better understand their experiences, needs, and ideas for improving road safety.
The program’s goal is to empower older adults to make informed decisions, enhance their confidence and driving skills, and improve access to education and support.
The insights gathered from the Wiser Driver Road Safety program will help plan the development of a pilot project to roll out mid-2026. If you’re an older adult, this is an opportunity to have your voice heard, confidentially, and to share what could help you, and other older people in the future, feel more confident and supported as road and path users.
The information gathering part of the project finishes at the end of February. So, if you’d like to be a part of this vital project, please feel free to contact Leanne at Advocare on 0427 379 166 to either discuss your opinions individually or as a group.
