WA Seniors Week happens from 8 to 15 November and provides the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the contributions of older West Australians and their participation in community life. Who have been successful in scoring a grant for their Seniors Week event?
For a second year, Advocare coordinated the Seniors Week Community Grant scheme funded by the Department of Communities and Lotterywest. Grants of up to $1,000 for individual organisations and up to $3,000 for consortiums support community-led events and activities recognising and celebrating older Western Australians were on offer.
This year we received a strong response, with 159 applications across the state. Following a competitive assessment process, 55 applicants were successful in receiving funding to support their Seniors Week activities. Take a look at the list of grant recipients here.
If you were a grant winner or, are holding an event independently during Seniors Week, remember to register your event for free on the Department of Communities’ website to be added to the events calendar to help get the word out.
